Rules and Guidelines

Most of these rules are pretty much common sense and general good behavior on internet but I suppose it would still be good to read them. These rules were made simply because we want this forum to be a better place for everyone.

1. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.

2. While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated.

3. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. is not allowed. This includes nudity and excessive profanity. We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate community standards. PTS Alumni Online team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.

4. Members should post in a way which is consistent with “normal writing”. That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts.

5. Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members. If you have any product or services, use our Marketing adn Business section.

6. Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed. You will not post any copyrighted material, nor link to any copyrighted material (with the exception of publicly available sites and pages that the legal owners of the copyrights have created to make that material freely available to the general public), unless that copyright is owned by you or by these Forums.

7. Do not post personal information of other people. We'd like to respect everyone's privacy here, so that it's up to yourself how much information you are willing to reveal about you. So don't go posting other people's addresses, real names, email addresses, IM contact details, or any other personal information without the person's permissions. (Use PMs if you have to)

8. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice and we also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules. Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

9. Avatars are subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, and so forth

Other miscellaneous rules:

1.Avoid doble post and similar thread. Use forum search to see if your topic was already posted or a similar topic was being discussed. Use that topic if you have more queries.

2.Do not make offensive or misleading nicknames. Those will get you banned quickly here.

3.No impersonating other people, especially Admin and other staff.

4.Do not abuse our bandwidth.

5.Use URL tag to link between pages and other sites. This will help our forum to maintain a clean layout.

Ex: Unified Lanshop Owners of the Philippines

Posting image

It will be best if the pictures we post around the board would follow a maximum width of 500 pixels and height of 500 pixels. Maximum file size of 200KB (the lower the better). This is to help the pages load faster, and to see the pages better (large pictures tend to ruin the layout) If ever there is a need to post a picture larger than the suggested size, it would be better to post a link, by using “url” instead of “img” tags. Or if available use thumbnails.

NOTE:

This Rules and Regulations are currently “Draft”. We need your feedback and suggestion so we can improve this. Please make a post for your comments and suggestions. Thanks.

The Presbyterian Theological Seminary (PTS) was founded on June 29, 1983 by the Evangelical Presbyterian Mission, Inc. (EPM), a mission group organized in the Philippines in 1978 through the missionaries of the Presbyterian Church in Korea (Hapdong). The seminary started with module classes with ten students through the leadership of Dr. Hwal-Young “Gerardo” Kim and Dr. Kiho “Timothy” Park. The name of the seminary was formerly known as Presbyterian School of Theology (PST) located at the Teacher’s Village, Diliman, Quezon City. In 1985, the name was changed into Presbyterian Theological Seminary and transfered to its present location at Salitran IV, Dasmariñas, Cavite in 1987.

PTS began offering regular semestral classes for different degree and diploma programs, such as Master of Divinity (M. Div.), Master of Ministry (M.M.), Bachelor of Theology (B. Th.), and Bachelor of Church Ministry (B.C.M.). In April 1986, PTS held its first commencement exercises and graduated 14 students. From that year PTS produced graduates from different degree programs serving in different churches and ministries both here and abroad.

The Presbyterian Theological Seminary exists to provide quality leadership training program in order to cultivate gifts for set-apart ministry. Its mission is based on the doctrine of priesthood of all believers that supports the concept of the ministry of all members of the church. While PTS recognizes the importance of intellectual excellence, it also believes that practical skills and spiritual maturity must also be emphasized. Thus, the goal of the seminary is to provide training for the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of the Philippines and other evangelical churches here and abroad. It seeks to provide academic and spiritual training for its students by offering carefully designed curricula and spiritual activities such as regular chapel services, daily dawn prayer meetings, weekly evening prayer meetings, revival meetings and fellowship groups. Just as Jesus Christ trained his disciples, PTS also provides training to foreign and Filipino students for the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth.

For its presidents, Dr. Hwal-Young “Gerardo” Kim served as the founding president (1983-85) and assumed office again from 1987 to 1991. Dr. Timothy Ki-Ho Park served from 1985 to 1986. In 1991, Rev. Hyung-Kyu “Diosdado” Kim served as interim president. From 1992 to 1995 Dr. Kiho “Timothy” Park served again president and succeeded by Dr. Samuel Sang-Il Yeo serving from 1996-2001. After eighteen years of existence, Rev. Alfredo P. Carlos was installed as the first Filipino president from 2001-2004 (deceased). He was succeeded by Rev. Arturo O. Panopio from 2004 to 2007. In June 29, 2007 during its 24th Founding Anniversary the Board of Trustee installed Dr. Azriel R. Azarcon as the 3rd Filipino President of PTS.

PTS continue to train Filipino ministerial candidates and church workers as well as foreign students from Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, Kenya, Gambia, Palestine and Vietnam as Christ’s ambassadors and witnesses to the world.

1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given to be verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant and thoroughly trustworthy, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and supreme authority for faith and conduct.

2. We believe in one God, perfect, eternally existing in three distinctive persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man; that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit; that He was born of the virgin Mary; that He died upon the cross, the just for the unjust, as substitutionary sacrifice; that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood; that He arose bodily from the dead according to the Scriptures; that He is now at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate; and that He will come again to complete His Kingdom of righteousness and justice that He had already started at His first coming.

4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, the Comforter, sent by the Lord Jesus Christ to indwell in the believers, to control, guide, teach, and enable believers to live for Him, and to impel, equip, and empower His Church for mission to the whole world.

5. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; that he fell through disobedience and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with sinful nature, totally depraved; and that the salvation of the lost can be given by grace through faith, not by works, but through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and the regeneration of sinners by the Holy Spirit.

6. We believe that there shall be bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; for the former to eternal life, for the latter to eternal condemnation.

7. We believe that the Church, visible and invisible, is the Body of Jesus Christ consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ; washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and regenerated in the Holy Spirit; that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church; that all believers should manifest lives of faith in the church worshipping Him and serving Him; that the Church has been commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to witness in His name, to comfort and build up its members in the Holy Faith, especially to fulfill the terms of the Great Commission to go forth into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations.
